The Cellar Investment Club - Meeting Place

The Cellar Investment Club

The Cellar Investment Club was formed on 27th March 2000. Initially with 14 members, since our inauguration, we have had members leave and join. We have always run the club using the format initially laid out in the ProShare manual, adapted for our own requirements. We are no longer paid up members of the ProShare organisation, but would recommend anybody starting out to get hold of their manual, as it contains some very good information. We adopted Barclays Stockbrokers in the early days but are now using Squaregain Ltd (formerly ComDirect). We buy shares based on a proposal and voting system which has been perfected over time. Anybody can propose a company, hopefully with a bit of background information, and the members vote.

Subscriptions are set at a minimum of £20 per month, no maximum. We have a low joining fee of £10 which goes towards any running costs. Attendance at our meetings can be anything from quite good to quite poor, with from 3 members attending each meeting. We are currently an all-male club, but we do have space for new members!!!

We welcome any new members to eventually get the total to the 20 maximum. So anybody who happens to be reading this and fancies coming along to one of our meetings, why not get in touch by clicking here. We meet on the last Friday of each month at the Ribs of Beef public house (see above), in Norwich (downstairs in the Wherry Room). Meetings start at 7.00pm. See the meetings section for up and coming meeting dates/times.

Note the location is right next to the river, so anyone could potentially end up taking an impromptu bath - it hasn't happened (yet) mind!
